Sometimes There May Actually Be Fraud In the System


The day after Ken Lay is indicted and John Rigas convicted, it is important to remember that fraud can occur at any level on the continuum of workers, from the highest to the lowest. Although there may well be more suspected than actual abuse in the workers compensation system, it sometimes is true. Or at least that is what you could conclude based on an indictment handed down by a Travis County grand jury. The Austin Business Journal story, Worker indicted for alleged workers' comp fraud might make some thinking about "pushing the line" think twice.
