Living Wage in Santa Fe - Currently A Mess

Given that the ordinance doesn't set out any details on how it is to be enforced or implemented, it might have been that the Santa Fe City Council was as surprised as anyone when their "living wage" ordinance was upheld by a state district judge last week. According to the story in the New Mexico Business Journal, the ordinance is raising all sorts of issues. My guess is that many eyes will be focused on the New Mexico state capitol since allowing a City Council the opportunity to give all their constituents a pay raise, may prove a temptation for many local politicians looking for that next re-election push.
