Setting Goals - Creating Risks of Unethical Behavior?


Goal setting is normally viewed as a positive thing and a common business motivator. Given our recent history, the academic research showing the "dark side" of goal setting may be worth thinking about. And why might it belong in an employment law blog? For just one example, note the number of claims of wage and hour violations where it is alleged employees are being made to work off the clock. Behind those allegations, one wonders how many goals or targets, supervisors might be struggling to meet?
